Nomadic UK’s Filming Checklist:

Here’s our checklist of everything that you can do to help your video team prepare:

Planning:

  • Is there a clear brief for the video team to work with?
  • Is there a storyboard?
  • Is there a script?
  • Is there a call sheet?
  • Passes arranged for everyone attending?
  • Parking arranged for everyone needing to park?
  • Are there any obstacles blocking entry into the building, through the building and into the filming space? These need to be removed or moved, so that doorways are clear.
  • Can you control all the lights in the room? (If they can be turned off, the video team can create the most cinematic lighting)
  • Can the air conditioning be turned off?
  • Audio: is the filming space quiet?
  • Is there any building work going on nearby?

Tallent:

  • Decide on clothing – this depends on the role of the person being filmed and the industry, it might be suitable for someone to be in overalls whereas for someone else it needs to be a smart suit, or a shirt and chinos. We recommend not wearing anything that isn’t in your own brand (i.e., Nike, Adidas, etc.) and nothing offensive.
  • Do you need to consider make-up? It’s best to remind everyone being filmed to come dressed to impress, like they would if they were going to an important work event (matt powder is recommended to minimise shine).
  • Hair tidy – the same goes for hair, unless there is a budget to hire a Hair and Make-Up Artist.
  • Is the room/space we’ll be filming in tidy and clutter free?

Post Production:

  • Have you sent over all of your brand assets and guidelines confirming fonts, colours, logo, idents, etc.?

We hope this helps! Good luck with your video production shoot!
